NFC and iPhone for parking payment
Apple doesn’t try to hide its interest in the NFC technology because, as many of their managers said, its potential is giant.
From several months ago we have been witness of how Apple has registered some patents regarding the RFID technology and its applications; but Apples hasn’t been the only one, also Google has included the NFC (Near Field Communication) in its last models of Android, with different applications that allow, through this technology, contactless payments for example in the public transport or in some shops.
We won’t have to wait a lot to could make the parking payment with our own iPhone, already covered by an Apple patent, the company is developing an application that will allow making the payment automatically.
The working of the application is simple, when the user enters into the parking, its iPhone device will register the hour of entrance and the data. When the user will want to remove the car from the parking, this application will automatically calculate, through the data collected, the effective cost of the parking and finally will charge the total amount to the client’s account (to have this service, the client will only need to register himself with its bank or paypal account in the application).
The main advantage of this application will be the commodity for the clients that will be able to take directly their cars without needing to pass first to the payment points, avoiding the long queues for payment.
